Importance of Vaccinations

Hello friends! After reading this, please reach out to me if you have any questions or concern. It is a top priority that we both have equal understanding about the safety and health of your future puppy from Correa Family Schnauzers!

Our puppies will come to you with their first set of vaccines and deworming **if weight permits** It is very important to continue with vaccines throughout the puppy's life. Within the first 4 months of their life, it is very important to take extra precautions with puppy to avoid unnecessary illness. It is also equally important to continue with socializing your puppy.

Vaccinatons

Parvo

Canine parvovirus is a contagious viral infection that attacks a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological systems. The virus is a serious death threat to unvaccinated puppies and dogs. The most common route of exposure to this virus is sniffing or ingesting an infected dog's feces (bowel movement’s).

Distemper

Canine distemper is a contagious and serious disease caused by a virus that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of puppies. Puppies and dogs usually become infected through airborne exposure to the virus contained in respiratory secretions of an infected dog or wild animal. Outbreaks of distemper tend to be sporadic. Do not make contact with other dogs or puppies unless absolutely necessary. Please do not take your new puppy out on walks or set the puppy on any ground that has not been properly sanitized or cleaned beforehand until the puppy is fully vaccinated at 16 weeks of age.

Training & Socialization

While we do an excellent job of exposing puppy to a variety of sites, sounds and everyday activities, it is important for you to continue both training and socializing when puppy comes home to you. We highly recommend signing up for a puppy class right away and continuing from where we left off. You can google search for a puppy scavenger hunt and keep introducing puppy to the wonders of the world. If you need help with locating a trainer or want to chat with a trainer about any puppy behavior, please review our training section or contact us with questions.
